What Disney Didn't Tell Us...

Cinderella, nearly every girl's dream eh? Her story has been told in different forms for centuries as it symbolises the hope for justice and reward for each person's hardship. It is a tale spoke to us from a very young age, teaching that as long as you are kind hearted and natured along with being a truly good person, your dreams will come true. This is all well and said, but I regret to admit this, but I think we have to come to realities now that we are fast forward many a year to a new generation where a fairy godmother is not going to pop out of mid air and whisk up a 'happily ever after' for us anymore. Which leads to my inspiration for this piece. I thought, 'What would Cinderella be like and do, if she was a girl in our generation today?' So here she is. Alone at 1.30am drinking an Apple Martini as she’s been stood up. Of course through the decades since the original I had to convert the outfit by raising the skirt length a bit :P

Some may disagree but I think she connects now a lot more than her tale back in the 40's/50's, even though I do admit I have adored this film since the first time I watched it as a child. Disney's creation of her set all my hopes and expectations for my life and in love. Although she did create a lot of impossible expectations in men. For I have met a few too many 'Knights in shining armour', who have only ended up to be the village idiots in tinfoil..  Maybe I did create this version out of a little bitterness from that but I think she now hits reality.

Daisy's Theory: Love Is Like The Lottery

I wrote this about a year ago and have discovered it again .. I still agree with many parts of it, but on others not so much anymore. It's funny how time and life can change your perspective on things..

No matter what way we try it.. we all want to win the jackpot.

Some may spend their whole lives choosing certain numbers that mean something to them, whether it be a family member's birthday, age or lucky number they will pay high costs to grab even a few winning numbers. We just have to have a piece of that high when we see our numbers being called out.

Sometimes you just don't have the time to sit down and choose out those 6 specific numbers that in hope could change your life forever. That sounds like it should really be something you could spend 1 minute out of your day to do. But then again others do not like that responsibility. For then the mind games come in. You question yourself if you'd really thought which numbers to pick if a winning number is just one off from one of the numbers you had chosen. It is even worse when you had chosen a number but then changed it to something else, and regretting it immediately when the number you threw away gets called out.

To put this into the love part of my metaphor/ theory, it would describe when you see an ex lover or someone you had turned down, thinking they weren't what you were looking for and then seeing them walking past you down the street hand in hand with a gorgeous girl/ handsome fella, whatever may be your worst nightmare. You are then suddenly swept into the field of self doubt. You doubt every single decision and assumption you had made about that person before. That's when it feels like a blow to the chest from Tyson himself, you imagine yourself being that person, happy and content and you realise you could have had that. You could have won.

I envy those who are naturally lucky for I honestly think I am cursed. For example with me, the harder I try the farther away something becomes out of my grasp. But thats life I suppose. To put this into my metaphor about the lottery it means I tend to choose numbers that I feel have came up regularly in the past such as a 29 or 34 but with my luck it always seems to end up with the winning numbers sitting quite smugly right next to the mine such as a 28 or a 33. I think that has a lot to say about me in real life. Kind of like I prefer the familiar, so I would choose to look for love closer to home such as from building up on a friendship. It just seems like you have much stronger chances of succeeding. I know it can work so well for some, though I know from my own history this sometimes is not the case and actually makes it ten times worse when it does fail and then you have to deal with the repercussions. That image of the person walking past you hand in hand, winning.

My sister has never had chickenpox in her life yet she is a carrier and anyone who is around her who hasn't had it then catches it. I think there should be a scientific survey done on whether you can be a holder of good luck, for realistically I think in my life the ratio for good luck to bad luck is 2:10 and thats being generous!

For those who are lucky in a lot of ways the lucky dip will come at their strengths. By not putting too much thought into the place and time of where they choose their lucky dip, they can casually strike upon gold. But don't think you can do this yourself even though you really want to win. The luck knows when you are acting ! It just happens to some people because maybe it was meant to be. Beauty, manners, wealth, health and thinking you are more deserving than others plays no role whatsoever in the lottery. Though in life we know this can be what influences others in love and yes there can be happy endings for this. But I have seen for myself of the most goodlooking, the most kind hearted and the most deserving to win but have only had it for a short time then lost it. Also I have seen it sweep over the most sincere and innocent and swallow them up leaving them bitter and cold never wanting to be near it again.

Its a rat race of life to win, it is without a doubt a joy and a curse.

It does end on quite a negative note but I can only write this on my own experiences. If you have lived like the other half, the winners, then you may have a different view on this. But sometimes those who have had a taste of the good life are still not happy. They can always seem to find a problem and pick and pick at what they already have trying to make it perfect, which in the end up can destroy it. Sometimes even if you win you are still not happy. You always want more. Greed has become such a powerful thing in the society of today. Sometimes we just need to take a step back and look at what we already have around us. Those who already love us without having to go search for them, good health and home and just be happy...

To Bite Or Run?

Why does Snow White feel so attracted to the red apple? Red has always been a siren calling out a warning, she couldn't have been that naive? There was a full basket of green apples; even the dwarves would have been suspicious of that.
I feel like Snow White lately, I can't resist the red apple. I’m talking metaphorically of course. They have to be the reddest in the basket or I'm just not interested. Also she had all those adoring, fair enough weird, little men running around after her doing anything she requested upon them. But once that Prince comes along, who she met for what 5 minutes, she dumps all the little fellas and whisks away on the white horse into the sunset.
I'd love to see a part two for that, where they have ended up sleeping in separate beds as they can’t divorce or they’d have to divide up all the gold, land and castle! There is nothing wrong with settling for something that warms your heart. But if it's not completely satisfying I will have no appetite for it.  For this my punishment is ending up knocked out on the floor by that bad apple...

Love Triangle

My life seems to simply refuse to be 1 + 1 = 2

Thursday, 26 August 2010

Friendship is something I really consider an absolute essential in life. You can't choose your family, therefore in my opinion, you can be stuck with a group of people who you don't necessarily click with. But with friends there comes actual non-obliged unconditional love for one another, which is still very rare to find in this day and age considering the 'plastic society' we are slowly becoming.
It is so difficult to find someone who you can put your trust into. To tell the difference between someone who actually cares for you or who are just out to see what they can get for themselves.
Do not allow yourself to be surrounded by fake and shallow or negative people.
If your not too sure how to tell these kind apart there are a few ways to tell:
  • They don't answer your calls or texts, unless its about a party or heading out somewhere.
  • When you try to confide in them they try to sigh it off but change the subject quickly.
  • They can't give you eye contact when you're trying to talk one on one with them
  • They are always bitching about someone else and spilling things that should have been kept secret.
  • They feed off your secrets, their eyes light up when they think they have new gossip.
  • They don't know how to ask, 'How are you today?'
  • When you are around them there is an aura of negativity
If you can be strong enough to start fresh, refusing to allow yourself to be made as an option when putting others as a priorty, then you will see a huge difference in the atmosphere surrounding your life.

5 Years

5 Years you have stole from me.
If I had known back then upon first meeting you,
That you would steal my heart.
Show me love that can never be again repeated or compared against..
But to then take it all from me and crush it between your fingers into dust..

I would have ran as fast as I could away from you and your cold bitter soul.

Unfortunately, I think I would still be naive enough to do it all over again..

Stockings, Stiletto's & Sexual Tension

Taste me
Drink my soul
Show me all the things that I shouldn't know,
when there's a new moon on the rise..

Your eyes.. your eyes
I can see in your eyes..your eyes..

You make me wanna die

Yearning For You..

I have an impossible appetite..

For your touch..
Your kiss..
Your embrace..

But the catch is..
if I have it ,which I know you would be more than glad too,
we both know it's never enough for me.

I always end up scorched..

Boy meets Girl
They fall in love
The end
Not anymore

But hey don't sit around waiting for Mr. Right to walk conveniently into your life. You will waste your youth and love that should be shared, not contained. If you don't experience any Mr. Wrong's or Mr. Maybe's how on earth are you going to know when Mr. Right is right in front of your eyes?

Also before you can love someone else you have to learn to love yourself by fully discovering who you are as an individual. So keep your heart open, your head high and your spirit free.
